The hand scrapers illustrated are designed to provide a number of different blade adjustments for cutting. Some cabinet scrapers are provided with reversible blades, one end for fast scraping and the other for smooth finishing. Illustrates a very simple but effective hand scraping method. Note that the hand scraping movement is toward the body of the worker. Because there are a number of different designs on the market, you will have to base your selection on your own particular needs. Remember: the cabinet scraper will not work well on soft woods, because it will shave the wood too deeply. Both cabinet scrapers and hand scrapers work most effectively on the moderately hard to hard woods (do not confuse the term "hard wood" with "hardwood". They do not mean the same thing.
